Kelly Nash contacted MPR Designs for a three-page website that would help her in her fight in Alaska for the House seat. This grassroots candidate was looking for a website with minimal functionality to use as a tool in recruiting volunteers and help amplify her voice on major issues for her current campaign. Kelly was coming off what one would call a bad experience with another web designer. So we worked extra hard to turn her experience into a great one!

DESIGN PROCESS
Firstly during our consultation, we went into great detail when it came to the requirements and expectations of the website. Since working with a website design in the past Kelly had her written content ready, and her logos already finalized. She provided it to MPR during this meeting as a base to product a first draft of the site. In addition we used other websites to develop and in-depth understand of how we could maximize the potential of Kelly’s site. We talked about why she liked the features, what she liked about it, and how we could best use this functions to create a successful website.
Also Kelly wanted to focus with a strong presence of red color with accent of navy blue and gold, (Alaska’s State Flag Colors,) and need to make sure it was user friendly for ALL users. After collecting all of this information I was able to create a strong first draft that was delivered back to Kelly in 48 hours.

Live Zoom Website Meeting – Design and Construction Editing Session
Following the delivery of the draft website, we scheduled our next meeting about week out. Then during the meeting we were able to execute the list changes that Kelly provided at the meeting. I worked with Kelly on creating more content where parts were missing or needing more context. We went page by page and talked about how the website was intended to function and make changes as requested by the client. Furthermore, I walked Kelly through picking out and purchasing a URL to have the website hosted on. We ended the meeting with a strong feeling and clear direction. MPR was back to work putting the final detail in place once we have the website associated with its domain.
Live Zoom Website Meeting – Final Check before Launch
In a short amount of time, I was able to finish all the final changes and we schedule our final meeting. We planned to go over and proof read everything on the website before launch. Prior to the meeting, I provided Kelly with an informational packet that included my suggestions on where site needed to be adjusted to optimize its performance. We discussed the changes and executed the ones that Kelly approved. Our final step was to confirm that all the information was correct and we were happy with the design.
Finally, the second half of the meeting was used to train Kelly on how to post on her site from her administrator account. We went over where she could find some quick website visitor analytics and walked her through how her contact forms were going to interactive with her visitors. Along with explaining documents forwarded that included important information for Kelly to have for the future. Then when I confirmed with Kelly that she did not have any more questions, we went live.
